Scarlet Ibis
In what ways is the Scarlet Ibis that died in the narrator's yard similar to Dooddle ? In what ways can it be a symbol of Doodle ?
During the story a bird the scarlet Ibis interacts . I think the narrator is using the Scarlet Ibis as a simile to Doodle , because they both have similar features . The Scarlet Ibis is described as really dirty and disabled in his movement , so is Doodle . But mentally they are both alright or " all there" . The Scarlet Ibis dies which foreshadows what will happen to Doodle , because the Scarlet Ibis is the symbol for Doodle .
Another fact is that no one in the family wants to burry the bird besides Doodle . The brother just left the Scarlet Ibis in the garden just like he left his brother behind just that he never felt sorry for the bird. The family is also making fun how Doodle is burying the bird , they think that the bird was already disabled so he wasn't " worth anything " but for Doodle he was because he doesn't want the same thing to happen to him . He wants people to burry him when he will die and maybe he could feel that his death will be soon .
The narrator foreshadows Doodle's death a bunch of times with different symbols . For example how the weather changes . The whole sky gets dark and covered with clouds . The narrator describes it with : " half the sky and thunder roared out , hiding even the sound of the sea . " or " the dun disappeared and darkness descended , almost like night ."
I think that the Scarlet Ibis was a symbol of Doodle because he went through the same process as Doodle and foreshadows the end of the story .

My favorite villain
My favorite Villain is Blaire from Gossip Girl. She is a very egoistical person . She doesn't care about other people and everything she does has to benefit herself. She wants to be the best in everything she does and wherever she goes she wants to be the famous popular girl. She has really rich parents so she is spoiled she has a maid who fulfills every single of her wishes . So whenever she doesn't get what she wants or something doesn't happen in the way she wants to she freaks out and uses multiple methods to change it and she doesn't care what happens to other people .
For example she was trying to get a job at this model agency but randomly this boy named Henry shows up and is competing against her for the job . Henry is Blaire's best friends ex boyfriend so they are friends. Blaire puts perfume in the chief's coffee which Henry gives to him or mixes up number so Henry calls the wrong place and the chief gets really mad at him . So Henry who actually is a friend of Blaire ends up getting fired and Blaire gets the job.

Human society
I think the boys chose Jack's system because Jack has a really strong character and gives a lot of trust because he seems so confident with everything what he does . The boys were on the island already for a longer time and still didn't get rescue yet . Ralph was always trying to set a fire to make signals and get rescued , he was sensitive took care of the everybody and was really democratic . He would have been a really good leader if he was more confident and would have shown that. Jack was really aggressive selfish and a dictator and most important he had the power to convince people .
It is still hard to understand for me why people would rather kill somebody than work together with them . Why were the boys so much more convinced by Jack then by Ralph ? Jack isn't a good leader at all so why do they all follow him ?
In my opinion the boys didn't think about it . They were just so convinced by Jack that they didn't think about it . They were all stuck together on one island and none of them can leave so that is already a shock for these guys . And Jack was just this really strong character to take care of all of them .They felt saver with him because he was hunter but they also had a lot of respect for him & would do anything for him so they start following him and Jack kind of takes over their control and mind. And I wouldn't blame the boys for anything that they were young and dumb because if a leader is really smart and able to convince people everybody starts following without thinking about it . It happened to a lot of countries in the past and is still going on today . So i think all human society would fall for this " trap " and would run this risk .

After chapter 1-5 of flies, what do the think the author is saying about our species? Is there hope for us? Can we trust people to be good?
I think the author is trying to describe the history of civilization. He also tries to show that our species can be good and evil . He shows that our species is possible to learn things and figure out problems by themselves . Even though it sometimes takes time to figure some things out our species can do it. He also describes that people maybe all came from the same origin but every single human develops in a different way . Everybody looks a different way , has a different voice , a different character and when everybody is different obviously not everybody is going to get along . He describes our species also stupid in some parts because the children keep thinking that there are monsters which is completely wrong because monsters don't exists . You also have to realize that he is not talking about the whole species of us because he is only talking about children not adults .
I think that there is definitely hope for us . People have been developed and improved in every way the last hundred of years . Also the children in the story have hope . They might don't have any adults but the find a system after a time and choose a leader . They also manage to get food when they choose hunters .
I think that we can trust people to be good a lot , but not always . You always should watch who you trust and who you don't trust . Especially in the situation with the boys on the island they only know each other for a couple of months . If i was one of the boys I would only trust the people which also trust me . People in general are good but there are always some people who are fake or just want the worst for you . I also think trust is a decision which you have to make out of the bottom of your heart . If your heart tells you that you can trust somebody then trust that person .

Would they get along?
In the book, a couple of boys are stranded on an island that has enough food and water. There are no threats to them on this island and it is possible to survive. Would they get along?
I don't think that they would all get along with each other , because those children are randomly mixed together . They all have different characters . Whenever there is many children in one place , they won't get along . There are just people you get along with & people you don't get along with . People can also have a different impression when you meet them the first time . So you might like a person the first time you meet them but when you spend more time with then they really can get on your nerves . On top the boys are stuck on the island together so if they are annoyed by each other they can't just avoid each other for a couple days . The boys all also have different ages so they are interested in different stuff . Since there is also nobody which leads the boys or gives them any rules they can do whatever they want . So everything can get out of controls very easy .

Poem
I performed the poem called " trees " by Jocey Keller . I was pretty nervous about the poem because it was a little bit hard to remember it and I was not sure how to pronounce the words and I did not want the whole class to laugh at me . But I was happy that i was not the last or the first one to go . I also was a little bit nervous because of my accent . It is so hard to loose an accent and yeah I did not loose mine yet so fred is always lauging when I talk , but I got used to it . It also made me more confidence that I am not the only residential student in our english class . After I finished saying my poem I think that I could have done better but it also could have been worst and my grade was ok , too. So everything ended up pretty good .
